Michele Olzi obtained a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy (Laurea Triennale in Filosofia) at University of Milan (Università degli Studi di Milano) in 2009 with a dissertation on Fernando Pessoa’s esoteric writings and his relationship with the English magician Aleister Crowley (“Fernando Pessoa e Aleister Crowley – Esoterismi a confronto”). He successively obtained a M.A, with distinction in Philosophy (Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Filosofiche, 110/110 cum laude) at the same University in 2011 with a thesis focused on the conception of ‘body’ in Crowley’s “Magick” (“Il Corpo del Mago – Una Rilettura di Aleister Crowley”). He received his PhD degree from the University of Insubria (Varese) in 2019. His research project focused on the life and work of the Italian psychoanalyst Emilio Servadio (1904-1995). His interests include the connection between avant-garde art movements and Occultism/ Theosophy/Anthroposophy, Feminist and Gender theories in Occultism, Neo-gnosticism in Italy in the early years of the twentieth century, and Jewish-Russian immigration and Western Esotericism. He edits the online journal La Rosa di Paracelso.
