Angela Burt

Angela Burt (PhD) teaches religion and sociology at Australian Catholic University. She is the author of Hare Krishna in the Twenty-First Century (2023) published by Cambridge University Press and Leading the Hare Krishna Movement: The Crisis of Succession in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (2024) published by Routledge. As Project Manager for the ISKCON Oral History Project, she has documented the history of ISKCON in her interviews with ISKCON’s earliest members since 2003. Angela is a Co-Director of The Intersection of Hinduism and Contemporary Society Research Group at the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and a Co-Organizer for the Vaishnava Advanced Studies (VAST) online academic conference.
