Nicole Bauer

Dr. Nicole Bauer studied sociology, anthropology and philosophy with a special focus on sociology of religion at Karl-Franzenz-University of Graz (Austria) and graduated with a masters-thesis about Jewish Life, Religion and Identity in Austria after 1945. In her transdisciplinary PhD-thesis about Kabbalah and Religious Identity at the Department of Religious Studies at Heidelberg University she investigated the German Kabbalah Centre. Her focuses of research are Kabbalah and contemporary Judaism, sociology of religion, new religious movements, history of religion, religion and new media and psychology of religion. Currently she is assistant lecturer of religious studies at Heidelberg University.
