Professor Kenneth G.C. Newport is Pro Vice-Chancellor at Liverpool Hope University in the UK. He has worked extensively on millennialism and among his publications are The Branch Davidians of Waco: the History and Beliefs of and Apocalyptic Sect (Oxford: 2006) and Apocalypse and Millennium: Studies in Biblical Eisegesis (Cambridge: 2000). Dr. Newport also has a keen interest in other areas of religious studies, especially early Methodism, and has published several volumes in this area, including editions of Charles Wesley’s sermons and letters (Oxford). He maintains an interest in millennialism, particularly within the broad Seventh-day Adventist tradition. Dr. Newport is a Canon in the Church of England and holds both a DPhil and a DD from the University of Oxford.
