St. Mary’s Woods

St Mary’s Woods was established in 1988 by the Catholic Diocese and is nonprofit as well as nondenominational. St. Mary’s Woods is managed by Coordinated Services Management, Inc., which was founded in 1981. Coordinated Services Management manages nonprofit, faith-based, community-based, and for-profit retirement communities in the Washington, D.C. area, Virginia and North and South Carolina.

St. Mary’s Wood offers both assisted living and retirement facilities. The assisted living offers residents a choice between four different levels of care within their apartments so that they are not required to move if their needs change. Licensed nurses are on duty at the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Residents from St. Mary’s Woods are given priority admission status to Our Lady of Hope’s dementia care, additional healthcare, and skilled rehabilitation care facilities.

St. Mary’s Woods is equipped with an on-site rehabilitation therapy center staffed with physical, speech and occupational therapists. Their staff works with patients’ healthcare professionals to create an integrated health plan. Activities available to residents include exercise, cards and crafts, and outings to sites around Richmond. Residents can join on of the Wii bowling teams that practice once a week. The facility itself is non-denominational, and residents have the option of taking a van to a Catholic, Baptist, or Methodist church service on Sundays.
