Orianne Aymard

Orianne Aymard (Ph.D.) is currently a Research Fellow at the Center for Indian and South Asian Studies (CERIAS), in Montreal, Canada. She was previously a Visiting Scholar at the South Asia Institute at Columbia University, and is the author of When a Goddess Dies: Worshipping Ma Anandamayi after Her Death, published by Oxford University Press (OUP) in New York (2014). In addition to her academic background, she also worked for several years for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on religious issues and Human Rights, as well as for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), notably in Haiti to provide assistance after the earthquake.
