Jack Fong

Jack Fong focuses his work on the human condition in modernity, from groups that struggle for empowerment and freedom to those that desire some form of transcendence from them. His sociological focus is on groups or individuals’ coping mechanisms for prevailing in a cluttered society with numerous social distractions, primarily from politics and culture.

Fong’s work in geopolitics can be read from both sociological and philosophical perspectives—especially through existential thought—that frame peoples’ desires for empowerment on their own terms. His current focus on solitude is based on observations about people in society that attempt to temporarily delink themselves from unnecessary social scripts imposed upon them in ways that deny them their autonomy and sovereignty.
