Iselin Frydenlund

Dr. Iselin Frydenlund is an associate professor of religious studies at MF Norwegian School of Theology and director of the MF Centre for the Advanced Study of Religion (MF CASR). She is also a senior researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo, PRIO. She is a religious studies scholar, working on Theravada Buddhism, politics and violence and has written extensively about Buddhism and the civil war in Sri Lanka. She has also been engaged in intra-Buddhist dialogue projects together with Buddhist institutions in Sri Lanka, Thailand and Myanmar. She is currently working on legal regulation of religion in Myanmar and is co-editing a book on Buddhist-Muslim relations in South- and Southeast Asia.
