Sister Annmarie Sanders

Annmarie Sanders, IHM, serves as the director of communications for the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. She had previously worked in communications for her congregation (Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scranton, Pennsylvania), Marywood College and in Lima, Peru for Latinamerica Press/Noticias Aliadas. Prior to this she was a medical social worker. She holds a bachelor of social work degree from Marywood College and a master of arts degree in public communications from Fordham University. She offers retreats and presentations on religious life, communications, spirituality, and other topics. She has authored several articles on religious life in America Magazine, Human Development, Review for Religious and other publications, and edited Spiritual Leadership for Challenging Times: Presidential Addresses of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (Orbis Books, 2014), Transformational Leadership: Conversations with the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR, 2015), and However Long the Night: Making Meaning in a Time of Crisis (LCWR, 2018).
