Susie C. Stanley

Susie C. Stanley has been active in numerous academic organizations and boards, including serving as national president of the Wesleyan Theological Society which awarded her the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. She founded and served as Executive Director of Wesleyan/Holiness Women Clergy, Intl. from 1992-2006 overseeing six international conferences averaging approximately 470 at each conference. Her primary academic focus has been the Wesleyan/Holiness movement. She has participated in over 100 workshops, presentations and lecture series. She has published two books, Feminist Pillar of Fire: The Life of Alma White (1993, 2006) and Holy Boldness: Women Preachers’ Autobiographies and the Sanctified Self (2004). She has also edited several books and written over 30 articles and book chapters. She taught theology and women’s studies at Western Evangelical Seminary from 1983-1995 and at Messiah College from 1995 to 2011.
