Info-Secte/InfoCult describes itself as a “non-profit charitable organization founded in 1980 in Montreal (Quebec, Canada), which provides assistance and information about cults, new religious movements and related groups or subjects.” The information the organization provides information on “a wide range of topics and viewpoints on sects, new religious movements and extremist groups.”

The Pew Charitable Trusts sponsor the Pew Research Center. The Center describes itself as ” a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. One of the services it provides is “Religion in the News.”
