Crestwood Presbyterian Church

In 1966, Crestwood Presbyterian Church conducted its first meeting in Bon Air’s Crestwood Elementary School. A sanctuary with seating for 300 and was completed in 1974 at the church’s current Jahnke Road location. In addition to the sanctuary, education and fellowship facilities were added in 1981 and 1989. Crestwood Presbyterian Church membership is now nearing 700. It is currently a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbytery of the James Synod.

Crestwood Presbyterian Church expanded by opening an interim second location in the Village Marketplace Shopping Center on Midlothian Turnpike in February, 1999. This facility is smaller, accommodating about 125 worshipers and includes a nursery and some educational space. The churches members use it for weekly worship services and special events. This location is still only temporary as the church intends to open a permanent facility in the Midlothian area soon. Crestwood Presbyterian offers two worship services on Sunday mornings at its East Campus location and one at its West Campus location.

Crestwood Presbyterian Church states on its website that its values are “to install worship that is worthy of God, fellowship that binds hearts in Christian love, biblical education that develops discipline, and local and worldwide ministry that

connects people.” According to the church website, Crestwood is a congregation that centers its teachings on the Bible and understands its mission to be bringing people to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The website further states that “Crestwood Presbyterian Church is deeply committed to raising mature Christians who are truly "Rooted for Life," which “comes by being centered and educated in the text and truth of Holy Scripture - the Bible.” The church furthers this objective through Sunday school programs that are centered on the teachings of the Bible. In addition, the church provides various other ministries, including Small Groups, Special Studies, Bethel Bible, Kirk Night, Men’s Bible Studies, Women’s Circles, and Women of Faith Bible Study.   Crestwood Presbyterian Church also supports a recreational ministry that includes activities such as flag football, basketball and softball.

As part of its mission, “Connecting Lives to Christ’s Love,” Crestwood Presbyterian Church supports their ministries all over the world. Throughout the year Crestwood takes time to send missionaries to ther countries to help spread the word of Christianity. This includes support for international missionary work in countries such as India, Haiti, and Russia, as well as several nations in Africa.
